Cognigen Board of Directors

Jim Jensen, Chairman

Independent Board Chairman for the Wasatch Funds and has served on the board since the funds were started 18 years ago. From 1986-2004 Jim served as Secretary and General Counsel, and, until 2001, was on the Board of Directors of NPS (a public biotech and pharmaceutical company). Jim graduated from the University of Utah, served a Fulbright Grant in Mexico and received his J.D. and MBA degrees from Columbia University. He was a law clerk to Judge David T. Lewis, the former Chief Judge of the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

Bob Bench, CEO, Director

Bob is a partner and co-founder of BayHill Group, LC. Prior to BayHill, Bob held various senior management and executive positions in start-up enterprises and public companies such as: Innuity, Inc. (INNU), SCO Group (SCOX), WestWind Inc., Sento (SNTO), CerProbe (CRPB), Fresh Technologies, Clyde Digital, and NP Energy (NPEC). Bob served as a financial principal and syndication manager for Cannon Securities (a regional investment bank). Bob began his professional business career as a certified public accountant (CPA) with KPMG Peat Marwick and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Utah State University.

Roy Banks, Director

President of Authorize.Net, a leading provider of Internet-Payment Processing Services. Under his guidance and leadership, Authorize.Net’s merchant customer portfolio has grown from 35,000 active merchants to approximately 200,000. Currently serves as a board member of the Electronic Transaction Association, Access Data Corp and formerly served on the board of Cognigen Networks, Inc Prior to joining Authorize.Net, Mr. Banks held a number of engineering and marketing positions with WordPerfect, which was later acquired by Novell, then spun-off and acquired by Corel. Served in the Department of the Navy from 1987 to 1992. While in the Navy, Mr. Banks served as a data processing technician specializing in logistics. Mr. Banks holds a BS in Marketing from Utah Valley State College.

John Knab, Director

Current CEO, President, and Chairman of Phonex Broadband Corporation National Director for Verizon (Data Communication Products) from 1986 to 1989 where he directed a division comprised of over 2,700 computer and telecommunication products. Served in roles as a Sr. HQ Planning Staff, Regional IT Management, Marketing Manager & Marketing Representative for IBM Corporation from 1977 to 1986. Member of the Board of Directors for the MountainWest Capital Network Earned an MBA from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and a B.A. from Brigham Young University’s College of Communications/Advertising.

John D. Thomas, Director

Specializes in reverse takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law for a variety of small public and private companies in the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. Director of the microcap division for small public company listings for MCC Global NV (FSE: IFQ2) an international financial services and investment conglomerate based in London and traded on the Geregeltermarkt of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of SportsNuts, Inc., a small sports management company traded on the OTC Bulletin Board in the United States. Has facilitated the public flotation of numerous companies on the AIM, Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and OTC markets in the United States. Holds a Juris Doctor degree from Texas Tech University School of law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Utah.
