Clinical Pharmacology Modelling & Simulation (CPMS)

CPMS has a leading position within clinical development at
GlaxoSmithKline, contributing to the very first administration of a
compound to humans and for demonstrating clinical efficacy in patients or
other relevant population. Within CPMS, the Development & Technologies
Group provide core methodological support and infrastructure pertinent to
modelling and simulation activities. In addition, it offers expert advice
to physicians and clinical scientists within the clinical R&D

Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI)

At present, CPMS is actively involved in a major research initiative under
the auspices of the Innovative Medicines Initiative (, which is aimed at the development of a
framework for M&S tasks, model language standards and modelling libraries.

We have an opportunity for a Post-doctoral Fellow to join the team at our
West London site in the UK. The candidate will work in close collaboration
with other partners in the (future) consortium and will provide technical
advice on modelling and simulation issues.

Our preferred candidate

- holds a PhD, MD or equivalent knowledge level within medicine, medical
informatics, clinical pharmacology, bio-engineering, pharmacometrics or
related disciplines with relevant experience in modelling platforms.
- has interest in and knowledge of both the mathematical and information
technology (IT) aspects of modelling/simulation.
- is an advanced user or proficient in computer programs routinely used
