My (very kludgey) workaround is to temporarily rename the \PHSTMinGW direct=
ory (e.g. to \PHSTMinGWxxx ) prior to using NONMEM and then switch it back =
for Phoenix. Since I don't swap back and forth very frequently it works we=
ll enough for me. I'll try rearranging the paths as suggested.

I did try consolidating the MinGW files for Phoenix and NONMEM but without =

(I am using gfortran for NONMEM 7.2 / PLT-Tools and default Phoenix 6.2 on =
WinXP 32-bit)

I had the same issue with trying to get Phoenix and NONMEM to coexist peace=
fully (same versions as well). The solution was to put the pointers to nonm=
em and fortran directories at the head of the path: e.g. C:\nm72g\run;C:\Pr=
ogram Files (x86)\gfortran\libexec\gcc\i586-pc-mingw32\4.6.0;C:\Program Fil=
es (x86)\gfortran\bin. On installation, Phoenix puts its own directories fi=
rst, and these apparently cause conflicts (possibly the libraries in PHSTMi=
nGW\bin?). Anyway this appears to work, and both programs function properly=

Dear Nonmem users,

Recently we have tried to install Nonmem 7.2 on a Dell Precision T5500, 12 =
core Xeon running windows 7 Pro SP1 in 64 bit mode.
We used the workaround posted on the archive by William Bachman on Wed, 9 M=
ay 2012.
Nonmem did however not compile using the gfortran 4.6.0. compiler, nor usi=
ng gfortran 4.6.3.

Variables were set as follows:
LIBRARY_PATH C:\Program Files (x86)\gfortran\lib
PATH C:\Program Files (x86)\gfortran\libexec\gcc\i586-=
                            C:\Program Files (x86)\gfortran\bin;
TMP %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp
On the computer Phoenix WinNonLin 6.2 was pre-installed.
This included the MPICH2 software for multiple CPU and CPU core processing=
Phoenix does add strings to the system environment variables.
Unfortunately, I don't have these available (or a screenshot) to share anym=

After de-installation of Phoenix 6.2 and MPICH2, the compilation of Nonmem =
went smoothly.
Apparently, the presence of Phoenix software (including references in the e=
nvironment variables for Phoenix) in our case, prevented adequate installat=
ion of Nonmem.

Has anybody experienced similar problems?
If so, can you advice me on a workaround enabling co-installation of both N=
onMem and Phoenix WinNonLin on a single machine?
