The Clinical Pharmacology Modeling and Simulation (CPMS) group in GSK has m=
ultiple summer internship positions at its King of Prussia, Pennsylvania si=
Basic Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in a U.S. based Ph.D. degree program in Pharmacokineti=
cs, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutics, applied Mathematics/Statistics or a re=
lated field
* Candidate must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and for the =
duration of their employment and will be required to furnish evidence of US=
 work authorization
* Candidate must be eligible to work on a full-time basis during the intern=
ship duration (35-40 hours/week)
* 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with modeling and/or statistical software (e.g. WinNonlin, NON=
* Completion of at least one pharmacokinetics course
* Student with prior relevant internship/work experience

Description of the Department:
GlaxoSmithKline R&D (GSK) is committed to model-based approaches to enhance=
 the quality and efficiency of drug development. The Clinical Pharmacology,=
 Modeling and Simulation (CPMS) Department has been effectively applying cl=
inical pharmacology principles and pharmacometrics methodologies in order t=
o aid rational and informed decision making in drug development working fro=
m Pre-clinical through Phase 4 programs.

Job Details (include responsibilities of the assignment)
* The intern will be part of a group that applies state-of-the-art quantita=
tive methodologies within the modeling and simulation framework to the deve=
lopment of compounds in the GSK portfolio.
* The intern will contribute to the analysis of clinical data including pha=
rmacokinetics, biomarker and/or clinical data to support the development of=
 new compounds in different disease areas.
* Through this program, the intern will gain experience in advanced populat=
ion PK and PKPD analyses and understanding the use of Pharmacometric analys=
is as part of a drug development program.
